Sand AND Pressure wash?

I'm getting ready to paint cedar wood deck stairs and bench. I've been over them twice now with orbital sander and 80g paper and have pretty much knocked all the loose and flaky stuff off. My wife thinks we still need to pressure wash but I don't think it's necessary. Who's right? Thanks

I've only been married a couple years, but I'm pretty sure the answer is her, always.

Sand AND Pressure wash?

If you elect to powerwash....go easy and light. Too much pressure will splinter the wood and too strong chemicals will bleach it.

Sand AND Pressure wash?

You already sanded off anything that the power washer would have gotten off.
