Question

is it safe and for how long to keep stripped millwork unpainted?

i just used (very effectively) Peel Away 1 to strip some gazillion layers of paint from my antique doorway millwork. however, i was wondering how long it is safe to keep the millwork unpainted after that and if it will be exposed to weathering (even though it is indoors).

BONUS: Peel Away company Dumond say rinse the job with a damp sponge after removing the compound. i was skeptical about that on wood cause moisture can compromise it, instead i was just gonna let it dry and then sand it. is this a good approach or should i rinse it anyway?

Follow the companys advise or it may leave behind a film that could effect the paint.
Depending on the humity where it's stored left unfinish there's a small chance it may cup.

Some woods don't mind rinsing---however,red oak --raw red oak should never be exposed to water as it turns grey or even black--

If this is interior woodwork and it will be painted? It's not going to matter how long you wait--as long as a light sanding is done before the paint goes on---
