Rusting nails on doorway

On the casing around my entrance door from the outside, some nails have rusted and started to bleed. I bought some Rustoleum paint designed for meatal doors and plan to repaint the casing, trim, and door. Its cranberry so it should look great after I'm done!

As far as the rust stains go, will Rustoleum take care of the nails that are bleeding or should I do additional prep?

Wire or fiberglass brush the rust. Then use a rust convertor spray primer if some remains or a rust inhibitor primer if you got it all.
