roof color vs siding colors

Had roof replaced and now want to paint my aluminum siding. Do I have to try to match the color of the roof? Thank you.

A picture would help, but painting aluminum siding is not recommended. The roof and siding don't have to match, but they have to in the same color tone family in order to be visually pleasing.

Nothing wrong with painting aluminum siding. I've done many houses with AS in my 35 years. Clean it properly to remove chalk and apply 2 coats of Satin Latex. You don't have to match the roof color, but, you don't want a color that clashes either. I think you are fairly safe with any number of colors with that gray/black roof. Pick what you like and go for it.
