restaining kitchen cabinets

I have golden oak kitchen cabinets that I would like to restain the same color just so they have a "fresh" look. Do I need to completely strip the cabinets since I am restaining the same color?

any lacquer over top of the wood? or other finish?
you generally can't just 're-stain'. you need to strip the old stuff off.
might be able to clean and sand them followed by a re-lacquer.

Agreed, if the surface finish is yellowed you can strip it off and reapply. Stain will be in the grain if they are wood cabinets. You could try to bleach it but chances are half and half.

Pull the least conspicuous door off and experiment with the most gentle stripper you have availed. Your paint store will have options. Your box store will not.

Pulling the surface coat may do the trick.
