A 6'x5' section of our living room ceiling needs to be repainted to match the textured or 'popcorn' finish of the rest of the room. It is a rental, so we just need to make it look acceptable for the years that we remain here. After we leave, the landlord will have to redo the entire house.
What is the best way to paint a ceiling section this size?
If it just needs painting, a roller and some premium ceiling paint will work just fine
It is unlikely that the ceiling paint will match (even if it was from the same original can) so the whole ceiling will most likely have to be done
If it needs to be textured, the type of texture will be a large factor
If you can match the texture to the 'popcorn in a box' at the paint store, then follow the instructions on the box
It will be tough for a repair that size, but the other option is to scrape and spray the whole ceiling
