repainting 6 year old Hardyboard


what is the best prep and best paint and/or stain for hardyboard in the mountains of North Carolina - that has already been painted and has some peeling.

Wash the siding, scrape off any loose/flaking paint, prime any bare spots with a quality primer, re-caulk any areas that need it, apply 2 coats of a quality 100% acrylic latex.
