Removing unknown paint.

First time poster, I'll try to be as concise as possible. My daughter was driving her 2003 Toyota on I-35 in Johnson County KS in bumper to bumper. She hit an object in her lane and white paint went all over her car. We tried yesterday to remove it. First acetone which did remove the light specks but some red paint was on the rag so we discontinued. I tried kerosene which softened the paint and I used a plastic "spreader" used to apply body putty and it was able to remove it but it was slow slow work and we have a lot of surface to clean. What we are looking for is something that will dissolve the white paint but will not do the same to the original paint on the car. Not knowing what kind of white paint it is creates a problem. The white paint appears not to have hardened to its final texture. Any ideas?

My guess is it was lane or shoulder lane painting striper. It is supposed to stick white paint to everything including asphalt for years to come.

You are not going to get it off with home remedies.

I know this is a DIY site but why not at least consult a body shop before getting to carried away with this, home remedies and wasting a lot of money and perhaps damaging the finish? I am just guessing but most will tell you the best way to handle this in return for building a relationship for when one of you hits something more substantial than a paint striper. Some reason not to file an insurance claim on this?

If you want to try other stuff? If it happened to be a bucket of latex paint that fell of a truck. Try tiny bottles of either goo gone or oops. If they work, switch to Krud Kutter. It takes longer but you can buy it in gallons or larger spray bottles.

have you tried asking your daughter what she hit??? .........im thinking she either pissed somebody off an they dumped paint on her car or she may have been involved in a hit aN run involving a painter on his way home from work .......jay walking perhaps?? who knows .............something doesnt sound right with this story as told so far ............i mean come on now ''my daughter hit an object in her lane and white paint went all over her car''
