Removing peeling paint from the ceiling

I scraped the peeling paint from the ceiling but then there was alot not peeling and subsequently is very hard to remove. I have tried to use a paint stripper in a spray can it has helped very little. Any suggestions?

Why are you trying to remove ALL the paint?? What is it you are looking to do? Paint stripper in a can?
Give us more info to work with.

Removing peeling paint from the ceiling

This is a house that I am renting. The paint has been peeling off the ceiling in a small room. I have scraped the falling pieces and there are 2 layers of paint. Apparently the original ceiling was green and now they tried to go over it with cheap texture paint. I need to remove all of it because there are strips of green old, possibly lead paint, and still some texture paint on the ceiling. If I was to just paint over it now that some of it has been removed it would not look right. But the rest is being pretty difficult to remove. I bought some paint stripper called "Tuff-Strip" in a spray can to apply to the ceiling. It is removing the textured paint some but the green paint is being pretty difficult to remove. I am trying to redo this because my 28 month old granddaughter is now living with me! Any suggestions now on how to get all of the paint off?

There is no need to remove the original paint. To remove the texture, you should be able to just soak it with hot water from a spray bottle and scrape off. Prime with a good primer( BM Fresh Start, Zinnser's 123) and paint.
