Removing paint from Timber door

I have Just moved into a new house that has lovely re claimed timber doors. The problem is that the previous owner has painted one of the bedroom doors an awful purple colour! Is there anyway i can remove this paint without having to buy a new door???

Depends on the door if she is a hardwood you can take her of the hinges put her on a plastic sheet and use paint stripper a paint scraper (be careful with this) and a wire brush to the grains cleen. With some of the soft woods you have to be carefull as some paint strippers may soak into the wood making it hard to clearcoat.
