Removed wallpaper and i want to paint now

I have removed the wallpaper from my dining room area and it is just sheetrock now. It's clean and all the wallpaper came off great it's smooth and no repairs to be done. This is a very small area, and I am wanting to paint it now. Do I need to texture the sheetrock or can I just paint it? I am wanting to paint it to look like leather, some earth light browns...faux I think they call it using some glaze. Any suggestion would be great. Thanks

Thanks, I am working on it right now. Home Depot mixed my base color with primer and now I am working on a faux technique. Wish me luck and thanks for the help.
