We have just closed in space over the garage for hubby's office/manroom.

Yea Manroom!!! There is nothing that says you have to stain the woodwork. Heck, you can just paint the beadboard on the ceiling too if ya wanted. I guess whatever goes best with the NASCARR or NFL paint theme

Cieling can be different than everything else. Whatever you do, match the crown molding to the base mold and door casing. If you stain all the moldings, stain the doors, too. If you paint the moldings, the doors can go either way, stained to match the cieling or painted.

Good Answer! Thank you - thats what I wanted to hear. However, I'm surprised....a medium brown ('NEW CEDAR') stained ceiling with trim color crown mold? We're still deciding on stained vs. painted doors. Probably will be a price decision.
