refinishing fiberglass door

I have a Therma Tru fiber classic door that has been totally stripped and refinished due to a problem I had with the clear coat flaking off after a few years. I have used a gel stain and sealed it with marine spar varnish which should offer the best protection. I also added a coat of the varnish ever year or two as suggested. I still get the flaking which takes off with some of the stain, but only on the bottom half of the door. The sun hits the bottom of the door only during the morning hours, for about 4 hours. Therma Tru recommends that I strip the door and use their own stain and sealer. It is a very difficult, time consuming project to strip these doors and I have a double door with sidelights. I am not confident that Therma Tru's product will have satisfactory results and am debating on painting the door rather than go thru this ever so often. Has anyone used Therma Tru's stain and sealer and have they worked? Has anyone had this problem and found a satisfactory fix to it??
