Railway Sleepers

Having bought a large tin of Cuprinol Ducksback paint we find it is no- where near the colour we wanted, having tried it we cannot return the tin to DIY store. Is it feasible to mix with another type of paint and what sort would we need to buy. Ducksback is a waterbased paint with added wax enrichment protection. Thanks in advance.
