question compressor based air painting

question here. i know airless is popular with latex due to the force fed nature of it. however, i own multiple air guns and tips. in order to shoot a house what tip size would you consider a starting point? my guess is 1.8mm to 2.0mm. i've also noticed my auto guns won't shoot latex to save their life but a pressure pot non hvlp gun will. i shot a little last night thinned with water. in the colder temps that was difficult to get coverage since going heavy means runs. is there anything else i can use to thin the paint or am i just stuck doing 2-3 coats this summer with water thinning?

plan b is obviously buying an airless. just wondering if the little $80 ryobis are even worth considering.
