we recently sprayed our bathroom vanity cabinet as we couldnt find a stock color we liked from the store. I used a basic SW latex, thinned a little w/ water and added about 20% floetrol. The results came out very nice for my first spray project.
Considering this will be in the bathroom, should I (or can I) put a clear coat of something on top to protect the finish from either people and/or humidity?
I have clear-coated painted cabinets with water-based polyurethane. It works great but can leave you with a big problem..........touch-ups are difficult because you not only have to get the paint out, you have to get the poly out. And, if you repaint in the future, you create a process of sanding, bonding primer, and recoating that is a chore. If it were me, I would forgo the clear coat and let the paint do what it is intended to do........protect your cabinets.
