Proper decor for a 1873 Italianite home

I'm in the home stretch in the buying process (pun intended ) and the house I am buying is an 1873 Italianite. I am looking for sources that will point me in the right direction on paint colors, curtain styles, etc.

All of the windows are original 1870's single pane glass (yay!) so heavy curtains are a must!

Proper decor for a 1873 Italianite home

As far as paint and decorations, you can get ideas from the above link.

There are lots of options, like heavy red curtains, or something to match the florals that will inevitably be part of this style.

consult a decorator? NO. find an older Italian lady in your area and ask her. Look at her home interior. I guarantee you can't do better than that.

Google the subject, there are lots of variations between southern mediteranian and northern Tuscan styles. Just some suggestions to get you pointed in that direction.
