professional paint lines how-to video
This video will help show how to lay down nice paint lines.
Welcome to the forums
Not that I don't appreciate the video
But that method is not a particularly efficient use of one's time
Not to mention not maintaining a wet edge, and waiting until the paint is dry to do your actual cutting-in is a horrifyingly bad idea
You might "get away" with that using a flat paint, but with eggshell it'll stand out like a sore thumb for sure (picture framing- a sheen or actual color shade change were the cut-in is)
That guy obviously doesn't know much about painting
Kudos for making a video though, and trying out a new "cheat" to get straight lines
Again, I certainly appreciate the video, and if there was one on the web someplace that I could recommend, I would
But that one ain't it
Hah! He set the paint can on the top step!
I didn't watch the whole thing. I can tell you now, he's not getting professional paint lines.
The ceiling he's working on has that small vaulted or angled wall, where he's taping.
In 25 yrs. of painting, I've never seen a ceiling like that where the line was straight. This is due to the framing, taping, mudding and sanding of the angle.
My experience has been to get a straight edge and a pencil. Draw a straight line there and then freehand or tape.
The guy did not even know how to load his brush with paint and he's doing a video on straight lines!
I'd love to see him to do a video where you have to invent a straight line and dont follow the line of the wall.
