Why would you prime it? Just clean it then use acrilic latex paint.
Sherwin Williams Super Paint or Duration work great.
Just be aware as the siding expands and contract the old color may show everywhere there's a seam making you siding look like it has stripes.
We replaced all the siding on two house last year because someone had tryed painting them. The paint stayed stuck, but the stipes looked awful.

I have not found Kilz to be a very good or performing product. I would not recommend using it on anything.

Kilz, as far as I know, is an INTERIOR primer, and, I would not use it to prime vinyl. Joe is right, just use SW's SuperPaint and you will be fine. The formulations for paint these days are compatible with putting it on vinyl. In the past, you would have to be careful of painting a dark color on vinyl.......this caused expansion and buckling issues.

Me neither. Kilz seems highly over-rated from the times I've used it. I can only speak to the Kilz premium stuff, not the old school oil.

You don't need to prime vinyl siding. Clean well and paint with a quality paint that's speced for vinyl siding. I personally dont use kiltz for anything.

dont put oil on vinyl. . . vinyl expands and contracts, oil paints/primers do not. not recommended. use a 100% acrylic ext primer if you feel its necessary to prime
