primer


what color primer do i use under antique silver ( very light gray) by glidden

First question is what are you painting so we can help you get the right primer.
Most primers can have a little black or burnt umber (Black for a bluer grey- B Umber for a browner grey) added.
Also Glidden makes a primer called Gripper that comes in a med grey. It is pretty good for adhesion.

Doesn't really matter if you're applying two coats. Light gray will cover white primer in 2 coats. If you're trying to avoid doing 2 coats, you could have the primer tinted to a very light gray. That is all.

And if what you are painting has already been painted you probably don't even need primer.
