Pressure Washing - Reaching tall house?
I'm about to buy a Ridgid 3000 PSI 2.6GPM pressure washer and was curious if these pressure washers can reach up to a 2nd and 3rd story of a house? I'm guessing it needs an extension wand but I'm not sure.

Anyone know if an extension wand will do it, or do I have to bite the bullet and still get up on the ladder?

You need to use a portable lift, not ladders. A whole lot safer.

What he said.....

Even with an mgiht be able to get the 2nd story done....but third story?

This is why you hire someone....chances are they will be as cheap as the lift rental....or at least close.....and safer....

For washing the dirt and mildew, look into downstreaming soap and bleach. Depending on your washer's output, using the proper nozzles you may be able reach 25-30 ft. high while standing on the ground.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I wasn't looking forward to being on a ladder but I've seen people doing it that way. I poked around a bit more and on another forum someone suggested a telescoping extension. They have ones that go from 8'-18' for about $120.

I'm not a professional so a portable lift is out of the question. I bet that extension is going to do the job perfect.

Even with the red tip if your not within about 10'- you're not cleaning anything, you're just getting it wet.

invest in a good solid extension ladder

With the right equipment you can reach up to 40 ft high. It is called an x-jet and it is a specialized nozzle that is used to inject soap and then rinse. When you clean sidingalways start from bottom to top and rinse form top to bottom. I have been cleaning houses for 10+ years and never left the ground to do one.
