pressure treated decking


if my decking has already turned gray , is it really necessary to use deck cleaner or can i paint right overit

pressure treated decking


The gray is dead wood fibers. If you apply stain to that it will fail within a few months. You need to clean the deck with a quality deck cleaner and follow it up with a brightner. Wolman Deck Brite works well. It will remove the gray, remove dead fibers, mill glazing, dirt, mold and mildew. It will also open up the pours to accept stain. If you use quality products and low pressure from a pressure washer you can remove all of the gray and your deck will look new again before staining
