Preserving Chipped Paint
Hi there,
I recently purchased an old window frame. The frame itself was painted many years back and is chipping. The gentleman at the shop recommended me sanding the frame down, washing with Murphy's Oil, and then giving it a coat of polyurethane. However, I enjoy the distressed look, and would like to prolong the chips of paint from falling off. So the questions are: Is there a way to preserve the chipped-paint-look? If so, what would you recommend covering the frame in to preserve the chips of paint from completely falling off? Thanks in advance! Best, boro Last edited by boroblues; 07-16-2010 at 08:43 PM. |
