Hi!
We just had about 200' of western cedar installed about 5 months ago. I'm going to be staining it soon, and it looks like the general consensus here is the Cabot Stain 1400 semi-solid series of stain.
The fence still looks the same as it did since day 1. It hasn't grayed or weathered at all. Since it's never been treated, painted, stained, and since it still looks new, do I have to pressure washer it?
The reason why I don't want to is because the people behind me are MAJOR grump and I want to spend as little time as possible on the other side of the fence. I'm sure he's going to complain about the stain, and I just don't feel like talking to him about it. I want to protect my investment, but don't want to deal with them.
For what it's worth, I'm going to be spraying it with an airless sprayer and probably backbrushing it. As a related question, how far does the overspray shoot? As much as a PITA it is, I'm thinking about dropping a drop cloth behind his side, spray mine first, then jump on the other side and just spray that. Thoughts?
Thanks!
