Not a great plan. It's hard enough to get paint to stay stuck to any floor, with plastic it has 0 way to soak in or bound to anything.
Trex's knows it had past issues with mold growing on there old flooring so they now seal it with PVC. Contact them they may have some suggestions
I know there was some pending class actions sutes so they may be willing to help out.

Yes, as long as it's faded, it can be done. SW Deckscapes will adhere to Trex.

Possible to paint the Old Generation TREX ?

tnx, joe - we put down some of the 1st trex on piers in nyc + on boardwalks in nj - trex stepped up when there were problems later on so its a good co far's i'm concerned.

talk'd w/trex last week - the cust svce girl said ' no ' but painters are an odd lot just hoping someone had anything to contribute,,, i didn't think there was anything but i'm better fixin' conc

what's happened is out hot-shot know-it-all property manager in our sc shore condo assoc thought it would be good so our paint contractor was VERY happy to take the addl work,,, soon's the barrier tape came down & the guests started moving deck chairs & chaise lounges, off came the paint,,, let alone the traffic marks from pedestrian traffic & beach sand tracked onto it,,, why in hell does anyone think paint is a good floor covering ?

I was told by SW that Deckscapes was spec'd for Trex and other assorted synthetic/engineered decking, which isn't the only instance I've been told about treating new composite decks. Before I answered your question, I checked with Trex, here is what I found http://www.trex.com/trex/groups/cont...xmd_000941.pdf, right from the horse's mouth. Unless your particular product is the one they don't recommend finishing, you're good to go.

Sherwin Williams Deckscapes is what I've used as well for Trex decking.

Lay down 3/4 marine ply t&g then coat with fiberglass with color tint. Last forever and you won't have to deal with the trex crap.
