Polyurethane over shellac?
Would I run into trouble applying either oil or latex based polyurethane over shellac?
Thanks... Chuck |

Polyurethane over shellac?
It depends if it is a de-waxed shellac or not.
De-waxed would provide a good base for polyurethane. Regular shellac will most likely cause adhesion problems.

Polyurethane over shellac?
the shellac is only acting as a sealer. It could be water or oil based. Best to use oil with oil and water with water.
