PLEASE HELP choose paint color: see material pics

I'm at a loss- we have a an open floor plan home, built 2 years ago and still with the standard beige we chose before move in cause I can't seem to find a shade that works/complements are materials. We have the Aristokraft cabinets- maple eastland square with java glaze and silestone ivory coast counters...any suggestions would be appreciated!! I lean toward traditional style BTW!

Although there are some here that might try and reply- I must say this is a painter site, not a decorator site. They're related, but not the same. I will happily say that an eggshell or higher sheen is good for a kitchen. Color is subjective.

I for one like decorating, but I would need more information, pictures if you have them. Just by looking at the pictures you posted, I'm leaning towards oranges...but that's just me. Post some pics of your space and I'm sure others will chime in with ideas.

you definitely need to give a bit more info (and this would have been better in the decorating section). Do you prefer modern, traditional, country... a picture of the room always helps. I like to go with warm neutrals and then add pops of color with accessories. That way its easy to change your colors. Can do red accents in the fall, green in the spring etc.

Can you back up and take a picture with more if the room in it? If you think that's a mess you should see my house!

When I did that the file was too big. Perpendicular to that counter in the picture is another counter with the fridge on the end, then in front of that pictured counter is the bar island with the sink and dishwasher, if that helps

There is usually a way to resize your picture. I use paint on my computer for this. When you go to resize it the program gives you dimensions. I usually cut the size in half, then save it and try to upload it.

I'm reposting a comment from another thread on color selection. IMO, it's the best advice.
OP, do some research on color, color schemes, and some basics on how colors work together. Take your time. Paint stores have palette samples, where groups of colors that work together are combined on one chart. Ask them for any educational matter they have on color. They're out there, just ask. You want to be sure that colors flow throughout the house, so it's not a collection of individual rooms with different unrelated colors. If this is not your thing, or you don't have time, hire a color consultant. For a reasonable fee, they'll spend a couple of hours with you and save you from all the research. Asking for help with color on a forum is only going to produce a littany of colors that will most likely be of little help to you, especially if you're not real familiar with color. Once you understand color schemes, it can be as simple as plugging colors into a formula and picking those you like and work with decor. Good Luck.
PS When you get some ideas, then get some samples and apply them to small pieces of poster board, which you can then post around the room to get good ideas about how they look from various angles and up against different fixtures and such.
