Pittsburgh Paints?

I'm a first-time homebuyer and am getting ready to paint several rooms in my new home. I recently went to my local paint store to look at Benjamin Moore paints, and I noticed that the store also carried Pittsburgh Paints. I ended up liking some of the Pittsburgh colors better, but I don't know anything about how they compare to other brands. I was just wondering whether people generally liked or disliked Pittsburgh paints.

Well, just know that you can pretty much get anyones colors in anybody's paint. Pittsburgh makes a fine paint. I happen to like Benjamin Moore better. As long as you stay away from home depot or lowe's you weill be generally happy. I know a lot of people like Pratt and Lambert Accolade, but I would stay away from it as I've never had any good experiences with it.

BM or Pittsburgh are nice choices.

Their premium lines are comparable to Ben Moore or Sherwin Williams
Each has it's own idiosyncracies, so some people may prefer one over the other
But they are all pretty good
Remember, they all also have mid and low level products also
They also have their uses, and also the differences become more apparent in the "commercial/builder" grades

Stick with the Premium/Super Premium lines

I love Pittsburgh paints! I use their Manor Hall flat latex everywhere in the house. People think it's my plastering but I think it's the paint.

oh...and if you really want good results, use a microfiber roller from Simms. :-)
