Pitted ceiling from paint.

i had a professional come in a paint. He painted two celings with a spray gun and left theceiling finish very streaked. I painted over one celing but found that when the paint dried, the paint looked pitted. I did spread the paint out and didn't think it was applied to heavily. How can I fix the pitted ceiling? Is there a product that would fill in the pitted areas. I did sand some of the ceiling dow but don't want to do anything else to make a further mess. I usually did my own painting and am very sorry I hired this person especially since he is not responding to my calls..

Is the paint itself pitted, or are you seeing pin holes in the joint compound seams?

Either way skim coat , prime, and repaint seems like the only answer for pitted.
