Peeling Paint Problem

OK, so in case anybody is interested, here's what I ended up doing:

Used an old sander and started to sand off all of the peeling paint. Stopped, went and got my respirator, and started again!!
Burnt out the old sander. Good excuse to go and buy a new Dewalt sander!
Carried on sanding, the whole lot! Seemed to take forever!
Put on a coat of undercoat.
Painted first coat of paint.
Realised I hadn't sanded inside the closet.
Sanded inside of closet.
Put undercoat inside closet.
Painted 2nd coat of paint in room.
Painted 1st coat of paint in closet.
Put up shelving.
Painted 2ns coat of paint in closet.
Put in baseboards.
Put in corner shelf for TV/BD Player.
Hung coloured lights around shelving.

2 very happy daughters and a happy wife, now looking for my next project!

Thanks for all of you guys for your input, it helped out a heck of a lot.

Cheers
Glenn

Thanks Jeff. It was definitely one of those "step back, pat yourself on your back, and have a beer" moments!

Peeling Paint Problem

Glenn, I still am in that habit today, after years of being a pro. I enjoy looking at finished work that came out well. The only difference is if it were my own house, I'd have more time to stop and look, and I wouldn't have to worry about drinking and driving....
