painting vinyl on windows?

lets just say, for the sake of arguement, that a new vinyl window needed to be painted. what would be the way to do it ? not looking for a perfect finish. but would like it to last.

How you you paint the deviders if there is any.
Vinyl can be lightly sanded, cleaned off and use a bonding primer and Acrilic Latex paint.

no deviders.

i have 1 basement slider window that is not old and is in good shape.
i want to get the same window, as much as is possible, to replace 2 other OLD windows. and i am thinking i would like to make them all the same color =NOT white.

If it's a new window then some manf. have differant colors they can come in so there's no paint to worry about.

We have vinyl trim around our exterior doors and I painted it without problem. I used exterior latex and it seems to be adhering fine. I didn't sand or prime, but YMMV.

I had a contractor damage the exterior of my vinyl windows. He used automotive paint (bumpers) to fix the damage. Windows are dark brown. Worked very well. Still no issues after five years.

If you are replacing all of them then get a good window with a factory paint coating. The windows sold at menards are "shed-worthy" for the most part. Painting can be done diy but it will void most warranties.

this is the basement windows. and idk if i "should" put a "good" window down there. i would rather replace a broken $100 window. than a broken $200 window, that i have to drive across town to get. 24x30" sliders. unheated, unless i get the fireplace going.

I have painted windows before. I used spray can metal primer and then a spray can of semi gloss metal paint.
