painting textured dry wall

My drywall has some blemishes on them and I want to touch up paint it.
I'm not repairing any walls just removing some blemishes.
My concern is my drywall is textured.
Should this be a concern?

Assuming you have some of the original paint to touch up with, the texture should actually work in your favor. Texture generally touches up easier than flat walls because the angular sheen is not as visible, and the touch ups don't show a 'flash' as bad.

If the walls are painted in a wall that may have faded, or otherwise discolored or have a sheen that has degraded, I think you will find it will not take you that long to buy a gallon of paint and do the whole wall. I guess you can touch up and agree the texture may work in your favor.

so touch painting or even painting a large area on a textured dry wall wont make the drywall flat/smooth, even with 2 coats?

i was concerned that paint would fill up those rough textures and make it smooth.

No, the paint won't fill in any of the textured areas unless you're using something thick like a textured paint which you don't need........just regular paint in the color you're trying to match.
