Can I paint the old sliding door aluminum trim in our house in Florida. What do I use and how do I prep them? Will they look good as new or like old painted kitchen cabinets which don't look that good. Thank you soooo much.
Yes you can, on occasion we will paint aluminum, such as doors, trim, gutters, down spouts, window sahes, siding, ect.Our method is to first clean with tsp per instructions, apply a bonding primer such as SW DTM to any bare aluminum, then apply two top coats of a premium 100% acrylic latex paint.
Thanks you so much! I guess I will have to find a painter in Sarasota who will do the work without charging an arm and leg. Do you have any idea how much would be a reasonable price per door trim/or for 16 (4' x 8')slider sections? Or better yet, could you move to Florida?!
