painting sand over sand
I had to repair a few holes in the walls after taking down some old window treatments in walls that are originally painted with a sand texture. I filled the holes with wallboard compound and sanded them down.
But here's my question - In order to get the flat/sanded repaired spots to have texture again, I was going to add the sand texture additive to my paint (I'm repainting the whole room). But can I paint more sand over the walls with no repairs, ala sand over sand? Will that be too much? |
I would prime the repair areas, then mix a small batch of "repair paint" with the texture
Get that looking good (it may be tricky) before painting the whole wall with non-textured paint |
