painting a room w/ both drywall and plaster walls

HI I am about to paint my bathroom. I've got my latex bath paint and the appropriate primer for it ready to go. However, The room I am painting consists of 3 drywall walls w/ compound finished joints and seams and 3 walls of plaster where I have removed some old wall paper. Do I need to prime the 3 drywall walls differently from the plaster walls?

You must be inland?
I don't see a lot of plaster on the shore (most was replaced years ago)

Anyway, with what and why are you priming?

I am using Shewin paints. Bath paint. Painting my bathroom walls light blue. The guy at sherwin gave me preprite bonding primer:

But I'm not sure he understood what I was saying about having plaster walls AND newly finished drywall.

The plaster walls were previously covered in wallpaper which has been removed, adhesives and all. THe wall has been sanded and washed.

I think I know what he was trying to do
You were correct in thinking it was not correct
That is for painting over (what is often on walls in bathroom repaints) a glossy paint
If the paint left on the previously painted wall is glossy, this should work fine
For the un-finished drywall however, I wouldn't recommend it
You need a sealer/primer for new or unfinished drywall
I'm mostly a Ben Moore guy, I'm not exactly sure of the SWP product best for this
As I understand it, it would be the PrepRite ProBlock

Cool, I'll head back there tonight and get the problock. Thanks. There is no previous paint. Half the walls are new and the other half are plaster that only had wallpaper which has been removed. Now, they are unfinished.

Ah, make sure they know that, though I'm pretty sure the same Pro-Block is for new drywall and cured plaster, which is what you have

Ok, went back and talked to the same guy. He insisted that what he gave me was right. I told him that it seemed like even though the stuff he gave me would work, it also seemed like the pro-block would be better for my application. He FINALLY grabbed another guy from the back who came out and asked me what he could do for me. I told him my situation and he said "no doubt you want the pro-block." SO thanks Slick, good call.
