I have a beautiful cape cod home with oak trim throughout. I am ready for a change in my Master bed / bathroom. The bathroom is a sage green and the bedroom is the same green (base) sponged two colors in slightly lighter shades.
The bedroom has lots of light, bathroom has some natural light. The shower, toilet and counter are all beige. I really thought i wanted to go with a cranberry. But, i'm not sure how they will do with the beige shower (etc) and. . . i think i'm afraid of getting to red. I've considered going with 2 colors. Cranberry on 2 walls, and another color on the other two. But, not sure what colors will compliment the cranberry. I've search high and low online. Every example i look at has white trim. I love my oak trim.
Sage or lavender goes well with cranberry.
Remember - painting trim comes with additional problems. Vacuums scratch painted baseboards, dust shows up more on painted baseboards, paint chips and shows dirt: you might regret it.
Oak trim would work fine with cranberry. Maybe pick up a compliment color in a border, a stencil, or towels and candles etc.
