painting plywood subfloors
We are in the process of remodeling our house and the carpet is awful. We have not decided exactly what we want to do so I would like to pull up the carpet ad just paint the subfloor for a temporary measure. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Id use a floor paint. Make sure its a floor paint because normal paints dont hold up to foot traffic. You can use either latex or oil. Theres pros and cons of both. Latex doesnt adhere so great to raw wood but is easy to work with. Oil smells and is harder to cleanup and it yellows over time, and is generally a bit more expensive.
Benjamin Moore has an excellent product callled Porch Floor and Patio (P122). Pratt and Lambert also makes a product called WithStand. Either one can be tinted to any of their colors, so you can get something personal that fits in with the colors already in your home. |
