Painting Parquet Floors
I will be painting my parquet floors white. I know that it will have to be cleaned often, but I am fine with doing so. The floors were covered in vinyl stick on tiles and I recently removed them. I used a heat gun to completely strip the parquet of any adhesive.

The floors look terrible. There are black blotches that look to be embedded in the parquet. Since I am renting (the landlord is okay with whatever we do, as they don't care about the building in general), I will not remove the parquet, as the cost will be too great.

Could someone recommend a high quality floor paint. I would prefer oil based. Thanks.

I can strongly recommend Benjamin Moore's Alkyd (oil) Porch and Floor Enamel

Thanks SlickShift. Have you used this paint yourself on floors? And, if so, how did it hold up?

Not on parquet, but yes I've used it or years
It holds up extremely well

I would say that if your parquet is floating and squishy, you'll have issues
If it's firm, I don't see what it wouldn't hold up as long as it would on a "board" floor

Thanks again. The floor is very firm, so there are no issues there. I will be painting within the next month. I will let you know how it turns out.
