painting over glue


I pulled up old tile in my basement and painted it with oil base paint. the glue showed through still after 2 coats.. what to do???

painting over glue


One of those cases where you should have asked the question FIRST before attempting to paint. At this point there's really nothing you can do unless you want to sand through the paint to get to the glue and then sand it down. Personally, I would live with it for now and consider it a lesson learned. Sanding the glue before painting would have been the route to go.

As gym said, kind of late now. You could try priming with a good stain blocking primer and go from there
