Painting over blackboard paint

Hi - Looking for some help please.

I have painted over some beams in my house previously painted with what i believe to be blackboard paint Before painting i removed as much of the black as possible.

I have used standard multi service primer but it seems to be reacting, turning brown and cracking where there was residue black underneath.

Any ideas? Thanks

The problem is your choice of primer. To often the paint manufactures in trying to make a multiuse primer make a primer thats decent at a multitude of tasks but not great at any.

Try washing again to remove any residue, then prime using Zinsser's BIN
