Painting Oak

I have some miscellaneous oak items to be painted. I did a sample board with 1 coat ben primer and two coats satin impervo. It turned out looking pretty good, considering oak is tough to paint with the grain issues.

Anyone have a better solution for the oak?

I know SW has a product called incredicoat or something like that.

Anyone used it on oak?

You might try BM's Regal First Coat primer
It's more of an "underbody" type primer
It's a higher build (for the grain issues) and sands better
The smoother the prime coat the smoother the top coats
