Painting metal entry door with Rustoleum hammered paint
I've got an old-fashioned entry doorway (installed in 1965) that I'd like to spruce up. It's a metal double door with 2 fluted sidelites. Before I spend $5,000-$6,000 replacing those doors and sidelites, I thought I'd first try changing the look of the doors and framing by using Rust-oleum's Universal Hammered All-Surface Paint to give it a dark-brown hammered look. After applying 2 cans of paint to one of the doors on the inside of the house, I find that it's awfully shiny and wet looking. Although I like this hammered look, I prefer more of a matte finish versus this glossy look. Here is a picture below. Any idea what I can do to give it more of a matte finish?
Get some compatible matt clear coat to go over it.
