Painting Kitchen

I'm about to paint over the semi-gloss that is currently covering my kitchen walls and ceiling. I'd like to do a flat finish on the ceiling, but is this ok in the kitchen? If I do eggshell on the walls, is there a particular brand/line that will hold up the best in a heavily used kitchen?

you shouldn't have any trouble changing the sheen.

BUT, since it is a kitchen, you may want to wash the walls and or prime. there is probably grease everywhere and that will affect the adhesion of the new material.

I am a fan of Sherwin Williams for residential applications. if you are looking to save money use their Pro-Mar 200 line.
