Painting Hardiplank siding

Hello, instead of searching all of these many questions I decided to just start one. Is it ok to paint another color other than white to a white Cedarmill Hardiplank board? I have changed my mind away from white and I was wondering if it was ok to paint with a different color than white.

Thanks!

So you are saying that I could put a taupe of some kind over the white board and all is ok? Thanks for your response! And for the suggestions of paint type. I am in GA....

We understand why most companies only offer the Siding Houston. But we think it is important for our clients to have options.

You are changing color so you will almost be guaranteed you will need 2 coats.
