Painting of green sheetrock in bathroom
We are having a problem getting the paint to stick on the green sheetrock that is in our bathroom above the tile in the shower area. Is there some kind of product that you paint onto the green sheetrock to get the paint to adhere to it? Also do we need to use a special kind of paint in the shower area? or put a coat of something that will prevent it from coming off after so much moisture and steam?

pva or new drywall primer goes over the texture you sprayed on. if you don't do this it will soak up paint like crazy. you'll go from needing 2 coats to 3 or 4

they make special bathroom and kitchen paint that's oil based and a bit more rugged. if you have a sherwin williams near go in and they will walk you through the process

If you already painted the greenboard and that paint is not sticking then you have a bigger problem a coat of new primer will not fix.

What exactly do you have going on right now? Do you have green board or painted green board and what did you try applying to it?
