Painting fiber cement siding

I am replacing the siding on my house with Hardieplank Cedarmill fiber cement siding and would be interested in recommendations regarding type of paint to use. The only recommendation from James Hardie is not to use stain, only 100% acrylic topcoat. Is there a particular brand of paint that works better on fiber cement siding or are all of the premium brands (BM, SW, PPG etc.) comparable? Also, would it be beneficial to re-prime before topcoating even though it's already pre-primed?

Yes all top of the line 100% acrylic paints are pretty much the same.

If it were me I would re prime ALL 6 sides, then you know it was done right.

Thanks Chris, do you think it's worth using a concrete & masonry primer rather than a regular latex primer? I was thinking of using Sherwin Williams Loxon primer.

The only thing I would add is, putty all nail holes, and then prime nail putty with a oil base paint so water doesn't get to nail heads and cause them to start rusting under the new paint out.

Then finish as Chrisn stated above.
