Painting Estimate Received

Does anyone have a ballpark figure of the going rate for painting the exterior of a 1300 sq ft house in No. California?

Painting contractor quoted $1700.00 which includes all prep work, pressure wash, scrape trim & scrape and fill stucco.
Does this seem high?

Not if the contractor is reputable. The amount of work to do all you describe will take a lot of effort. Figure out what the cost of materials are then what your time is worth. You could DIY but if it goes wrong who are you going to blame?
A good painter is worth the price and $1700 for the job you describe is not that bad. I'd get a couple of quotes and ask for addresses where the contractor has worked recently so I could check the work.
