painting an entrence door

My entrence door is metal and white. Next to it in the living room is a closet door which is oak. I am going to paint my living room walls berry. What color do I paint my entrence door?

Selway - The honest answer is: paint it any color you want or not at all. This is a matter of personal preference. We will be happy to critique or ratify your design choices. As it stands, your inquiry is way too open ended for us to help much.

Maybe a picture would help, or a sample of your color options.

You could give give it a faux wood look to match your oak closet door, using a gel stain.

You could paint the panels the Berry color and paint the rest of the door an oak color.

This really comes down to your taste and what colora you like, but if it was me, and I really hate to say this, I would cover the door in fake wood paneling. I'm not sure how well a wood door would look with a metal one, especially with the shade of red you chose being so suited to the wooden door. At that point I think you should try to maje the metal door fit with the wooden theme.

Is all the other trim oak? If not, your question should be about painting the oak door. If it's an extraordinary looking entrance door, you might consider an accent. If it's not something that deserves a special highlight, just paint it with the rest of the trim, which brings me back to my original question. Not enough information.
