Home Depot does sell Zinsser primers. Splurge for that at least. Coverstain 2 blows Kiltz away. The wife & daughter did the kitchen finish coats with Valspar. At least it washes easy because there is Zinsser underneath. Uneven gloss as hell though!

Actually I was surprised on how cheap the paint was at BM
$100 for 5 gallons of paint and $60 for 5 gallons of primer.
I'm happy with that

It's what some of us keep trying to get across. And you will actually get it on the walls and ceilings without having to fight it.

Well no one ever mentioned a price, and everyone says paying more for better paint is worth it, so you want to get your paints at SW and BM.
When I priced paint there before for outdoor paint, It was so expensive it was like Double the price of the big box store paints..
That is why most people don't buy good paint is because of this double the price things.
Now I do know the actual price and it is the same or even a little bit cheaper. Which no one has ever pointed that out.

Basically when you lets say have $400 in your pocket to do a job. If the good stuff will cost you $700 and cheaper stuff will cost you $300
Well some people don't have many options.
Price is everything for allot of people. Of course well all want the best, but it's the same reason why everyone doesn't drive new cars.

Now if this paints doesn't work as well as the store Valspar crap, I'm going to be paying everyone here a visit lol

Uhhhh, if you paid $100.00 for 5 gallons you just bought the "cheap stuff".

But the cheaper paint store paint is better then the box store expensive paint right?

The untrained eye probably won't know the difference. There could be a lot of reasons you paid so little. A sale, too much product in stock, etc. Put it on and see what happens. Just remember, most of the value of a good paint job lies in the prep work.

Let me give you a scenario, You "Save" money and buy the cheaper big box material. You paint the house and you are reasonably pleased. 2-3 yrs later you "need another coat" because the "bargain" paint is wearing terribly......So you spend the same amount of money to buy more paint. have you saved any money? Actually you have spent the same, maybe more, and painted your house twice as many times.......

And I will give you a little hint, If you go into a SWP and tell them you are painting the whole outside of your house and you are considering "Big Box" paint, you will be surprised how accommodating they can be!

Exactly! Walk in with a Consumer Reports issue in your pocket and ask for Behr at a SWP store. Point out the article after they stop laughing. I got some Promar 2000 at Behr prices this way.

I would imagine for $100 a 5 you probably got the super spec line which isn't bad - possibly may have got regal if you got the flat and the store is priced really really good!! Either case, better than behr.
