Painting concrete w/cutback adhesive on it
I have a furnace room that has the 9x9 tile on the floor. They are damaged, and need to be replaced. The problem is under the tile is black asphalt cutback adhesive. I can scrape it down and remove most of it, but the residue remains. Is there a paint or paint/primer combo that will stick to this? Thanks

Does a flooring adhesive remover work?

Also, not sure of which paint to use on this. You would use a water product since we don't know if it was "cutback" with a water or petroleum.

Thanks, I'll check into that, do you know if they're flammable? Paint thinner works, but the smell, and the small room with a water heater in it (gas) doesn't make it a good choice.

Look around the local HD or other big store. You may find something non-flammable.

Plain paint thinner isn't very flammable, just blow out the pilot lights and use ventilation.
